The face behind the flowers…

My name is Anya and I am your South Durham flower farmer. I am a wife, mama to 2 silly boys, 2 dogs (goldendoodle named Reishi and labradoodle named Cordy) and a cat (Maine Coon named Morel). I also have been a Physician Associate (PA-C) in family medicine for the past 12 years after graduating from Duke University. My husband and I own and run One Fungi Mushroom Farm, where we grow and sell medicinal mushrooms/ mushroom products.

I grew up gardening with my mom and dad and have always felt at peace with my hands in the soil. About 6 years ago, we were lucky enough to purchase land right in the heart of south durham. While being about 3 minutes from Southpoint Mall, we are tucked back in the woods and have a beautiful little oasis. Since moving to our property, I have slowly been adding gardens , re-establishing perennials and experimenting with cut flowers.

As a flower lover, I noticed that there was a lack of local flowers in the South Durham area. I have dreamed about growing and getting my flowers into more SoDu homes. We renovated an old shed and it will serve as Sodu’s flower shed, where anyone can swing by and grab a freshly harvested locally grown flower bouquet or arrangement.
